My youtube channel shows that Ed would hand crank stones sideways when they had to travel long distances, although nobody was ever able to witness how he moved them 'up'.

In short; it was through use of a simple trick. Not that simple for most though.
It was only simple enough for me because of a discovery I made in particle physics in 1995. 
It begins with the negative pole of magnetic current being slightly stronger and more capable of holding together during high amp states of flux between stator cores and ac motor iron casings. This would put a bias of the positive pole into the iron, neg bias into copper.

The entire system used various parts. The flywheel itself was used purely as a special filter of particles as well as what I call an ion diode. 

The most prominent trick used by this circuit, which had 3 grounds, was the modulation of 3 waves off the flywheel's ground 1, shorted before peak of of negative would leave the distributor contact once each 1/4 revolution. This ensured only superconductive capable particles would gain momentum, but also provides a means of polar overlap, for in each iron ground charge building up a pole, the opposite pole would be required to combine in counterspin upon each successive recurring carrier wave based cycle via use of distributor discharge short among grounds 1 (flywheel) and ground 2.  This puts alternating polar momentum to shift one way or the other (so ion charge, the sum of poles will split one direction or the other) controlled soley by the timing of the distributor 4 contact assembly. This part remains stationary inside the flywheel as it rotates clockwise.

 
Zero point is; 

The recombination of wave peaks into a higher frequency through the use of pump z waves set in sync yet out of phase with proceeding waves moving through focus from and to a nonlinear medium.
Ed used zp. His distributor inside the flywheel is a clear sign he ran everything using a carrier wave from there. Any pump z carrier wave causes all carried waves to also become pump z waves. Zero point energy is the result of folding space, ie; folding pump z waves into a higher frequency wave. From the same point they implode through but not originate from in distance. Dielectric layers. Timing post 3 coils, but also layer of wire in the motors.
